THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MASTER OF DESTINY (*J Botes) and INTUITIVE SPIRIT (M Yeni) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MASTER OF DESTINY (*J Botes) commenced to over-race in the early stages and was steadied on two occasions to avoid the heels of STORMY CHOICE (*B Plaatjies) at approximately the 1600m. b) BLACKBERRY BREEZE (J Jacobs) brushed the inside running rail on two occasions at approximately the 1400m. c) Apprentice B Plaatjies's (STORMY CHOICE) crop was accidentally struck from his hand by Jockey S Hlengwa (QUEEN AMINA) at the 250m. d) Jockey D Daniels reported that PROFESSOR LUPIN faltered upon entering the straight and thereafter Jockey D Daniels did not persevere with his riding. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) HODGEPODGE (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S H Ferrie was advised (DZ).
