THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LITTLE MISS PINK (O Noach) jumped awkwardly. b) GIRL LIKE US (D Ashby) and DAME OF TRIX (L Mxothwa) made contact leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 800m DAME OF TRIX (L Mxothwa) was steadied when close to the heels of TANNERON (A Domeyer), which shifted in. As a consequence, PILOT FLAME (R Fourie), which had pulled hard in the early stages, was directed outwards to avoid the heels of DAME OF TRIX (L Mxothwa), which was allowed to race around runners and to the front of the field. Jockey A Domeyer appeared before the Board and was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear of other runners before allowing his mount to shift ground. b) Jockey O Noach (LITTLE MISS PINK) was dislodged in the pull-up area, without incident. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that ROYAL LYTHAM felt uncomfortable in its action in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey A Arries reported that LOVE STORY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) PILOT FLAME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D McLachlan was advised.
