THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTIVE MOON (N Klink) pre-empted the start and broke open the front gates which led to ADMIRAL'S CHANCE (D Daniels) breaking through its front gates. While CAPTIVE MOON did not leave the stalls, ADMIRAL'S CHANCE ran a short distance, was restrained, returned to the start and was subsequently passed fit to race by the Veterinary Surgeon. This resulted in a delay to the start of this race. b) ADMIRAL'S CHANCE (D Daniels) was stubborn loading, which resulted in a further delay. c) MY SECRET PLACE (P Mxoli) was slow into stride. d) POWER RANGER (N Takawira) stood as the start was effected and lost many lengths. The starting stalls certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. He is suspended until recertified tractable on a raceday with a companion. Trainer D Swanson advised. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the indifferent performances from CAPTIVE MOON (N Klink) and POWER RANGER (N Takawira), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine both horses. b) Jockey D Daniels reported that ADMIRAL'S CHANCE took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this horse. c) MY SECRET PLACE (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Mallett advised (AH). JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) ADMIRALS CHANCE raced without blinkers and equipped with a compression mask. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CAPTIVE MOON respiratory distress. b) POWER RANGER lame right hind. c) ADMIRAL'S CHANCE examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
