THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ETHICAL (R Munger) and MIDNIGHT MIRACLE (P Mxoli) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MRS DLADLA (J Gates) hung out around the turn which resulted in this filly racing wide around the turn and into the straight. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey P Mxoli reported that MIDNIGHT MIRACLE took a number of awkward strides around the turn. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of VIPINGO, misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (16) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey A Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R10,000 was imposed. d) Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E read with Guideline 3 on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking VIPINGO forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Jockey A Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2,000. e) SISTER GOLDEN HAIR (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MRS DLADLA not striding out left hind. b) MIDNIGHT MIRACLE fatigued.
