THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREENLIGHT EXPRESS (C Habib) and FUTURE OF ENERGY (C Maujean) were stubborn loading. b) NIKES RAY OF LIGHT (Y Ramzan) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates. c) MISTER WHISTLE (MK Katjedi) jumped slow, losing one length. d) BELOW DECK (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing four lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start NIKES RAY OF LIGHT (Y Ramzan), which jumped awkwardly, was buffeted between FOUR JACKS (G Wright) and JET LAVISH (M Yeni). b) Approaching the 400m BELOW DECK (X Ndlovu) was momentarily inconvenienced by GREENLIGHT EXPRESS (C Habib), which was directed outwards for clear running. c) GLOBETONIC (S Naidoo) was hanging in badly from the 300m. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that JET LAVISH did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer L Gila, acting on behalf of Trainer K Naidoo, will be advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) Jockeys R Fourie and MK Katjedi reported that LEGAL THRILLER and MISTER WHISTLE respectively did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. f) In view of the performance of THUNDER MASTER (C Little), which raced prominently in the early stages of the race and compounded in the straight, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BELOW DECK (X Ndlovu), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 15/03/2025 to 21/03/2025 inclusive). BELOW DECK may not be presented for re-passing during this period. h) GLOBETONIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM) i) GUARDING THE WALL, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
