THE STARTER REPORTED: a) UN BEL DI (M Yeni) jumped inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, GEM KING (C Orffer), TENANGO (A Fortune) and FUTURE VARIETY (A Domeyer) were inconvenienced on the inside of UN BEL DI (M Yeni), which jumped inwards. b) LION RAMPART (R Fourie) was steadied away from the heels of TEFLON MAN (C Zackey) at the finish. c) In view of the performance of MUFASA (G Wright), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride TENANGO out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Jockey A Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. In determining penalty, the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey A Fortune had not prejudiced his chances of obtaining a better position. e) GEM KING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
