THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MISS VALENTYNA (S Naidoo) was stubborn loading and jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths. b) ONO NO KOMACHI (R Fourie) and DATTERINI (K Minnie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After jumping awkwardly, MISS VALENTYNA (S Naidoo) proved reluctant to gallop and raced at the rear of the field. b) DANCING IN WINTER (C Maujean), CLOUDBURST (Y Ramzan) and DATTERINI (K Minnie) over raced in the early and middle stages. c) ONO NO KOMACHI (R Fourie) was directed outwards away from the heels of DATTERINI (K Minnie) to obtain clear running at approximately the 700m. d) GENTEEL (C Little) commenced to hang out from approximately the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey C Little used his crop in his right hand, which further encouraged his mount to hang out. This was corrected at the 100m. e) DANICNG IN WINTER changed stride at the 300m. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MISS VALENTYNA (S Naidoo), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load and jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 22/03/2025 to 28/03/2025 inclusive) MISS VALENTYNA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. g) ONO NO KOMACHI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
