THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MARINE MERCHANT (+B Nkunzi) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls. b) STU'S GIRL (+M Sigenu) was slow into stride THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LARKING ABOUT (+B Thwalani), MARINE MERCHANT (+B Nkunzi) and JOUEUR DE FLUTE (+A Bikwe) raced wide on the early part of the turn. b) Approaching the 50m JOUEUR DE FLUTE (+A Bikwe) had to be steadied when tightened for room between STU'S GIRL (+M Sigenu) and JOHNNY DRAMA (+L Geledu), which shifted out slightly. Shortly thereafter, JOHNNY DRAMA (+L Geledu), which continued to shift out and STU'S GIRL (+M Sigenu), which rolled in, made contact shortly before the finish. c) MARINE MERCHANT (+B Nkunzi) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1.
