THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey J Solomons (DISTRICT MASTER) dropped his crop at the 250m. b) Jockey R Fourie (MONT LOISIR) briefly dropped his right-side rein at the 150m. c) At the 100m SUN DAZED (A Domeyer), which was initially directed outwards at the 150m, was carried out marginally on two occasions by MONT LOISIR (R Fourie), which shifted out. Jockey A Domeyer and Trainer C Bass-Robinson called for a race review, which was followed by Trainer C Bass-Robinson lodging an objection on behalf of the 2nd-placed horse SUN DAZED against the 1st-placed horse MONT LOISIR on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Objection Board, after hearing all the evidence, reviewing the patrol films and giving consideration of the margin of 0,4 of a length between the two horses concerned, was satisfied that SUN DAZED (A Domeyer) would not have finished ahead of MONT LOISIR (R Fourie) had this incident not occurred and therefore overruled the Objection. The Objection deposit was refunded. d) MONT LOISIR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised.
