THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROYAL FORCE (R Munger) stumbled leaving the stalls. b) TOO LATE MY MATE (C Habib) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) STORM BRASCO (P Strydom) commenced to give ground to the field from the 1000m, thereafter Jockey P Strydom (STORM BRASCO) did not persevere with his riding from the 600m. Jockey P Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) SKITTLES SKIES (P Mxoli) was directed outwards from the top of the straight and thereafter raced in isolation parallel to the outside running rail. c) ARISTOTLE (K Matsunyane) hung out from the 400m. d) KAMENSKY (G Lerena) hung out from the 300m. e) Jockey C Maujean reported that ONE MORE STAR made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. f) KAMENSKY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, was advised (SM). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) TOO LATE MY MATE: Jockey C Habib weighed out at 54,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
