AUGRABIES (S Hlengwa) lifted its left front shoe en route to the start which had to be attended to by the course farrier. This gelding was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MONT TREMBLANT (*S Bungane) over-raced in the early stages and as a result raced in advance of the field. b) MUMSY'S GLORY (N Patel) over-raced in the early stages. c) At the 1000m, as the pace of this race slowed, MUMSY'S GLORY (N Patel) was brushed out by SILVER PLATTER (S Moodley) which was directed outwards away from the heels of BAD MEDICINE (G Lerena). d) MUMSY'S GLORY (N Patel) hung in, in the final straight. In view of the performance of this colt (44.20 lengths, 125/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) BAD MEDICINE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
