THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CURTISS CONDOR (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls, making contact with the right-side front gate, and thereafter was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) RED SEA HILLS (K Matsunyane) commenced to give ground to the field from the 400m. b) MIZZEN SWORD (G Lerena) hung in from the 400m. c) Jockey N Klink, the rider of TRIP TO STATES, accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m. d) In the concluding stages, TRIP TO STATES (N Klink) was carried in marginally by CURTISS CONDOR (S Khumalo), which hung in from the 200m. e) Jockey Yeni reported that ARCTIC OWL did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) GIMME A STORM (A Fortune), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
