THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAIL THE SKY (G Lerena) was restless and rushed the front gates. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer C I Jonker was advised (GT). b) HAT'S LADY (*K J Lihaba) was slow losing three lengths. Assistant Trainer W Marwing, acting on behalf of Trainer W H Marwing, was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) A race review was called into the start of this race with regards to SAIL THE SKY (G Lerena) in stall gate 5. The Stewards established that this gelding was restless and had nudged the front gates open as the start was effected. It was further established that the right-side gate had bounced back making contact with this SAIL THE SKY'S shoulder. The Board, after reviewing and giving careful consideration to the footage from all available camera angles, was satisfied that this gelding had gained no advantage nor suffered any disadvantage and that this was a fair start. In terms of the provisions of Rule 61.6.11, this gelding was declared a runner. b) At approximately the 1200m, ROAMING SPIRIT (K Matsunyane) was carried out by VAVA VEGAS (A Fortune), which commenced to over-race. c) Apprentice K J Lihaba, the rider of HAT'S LADY, accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m. d) In view of the performance of ROAMING SPIRIT (K Matsunyane), (distance 9,65 lengths, betting 7/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SAIL THE SKY, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 26 March 2025 to 2 April 2025. SAIL THE SKY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer C I Jonker was advised. f) PRINCESS ILARIA (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PRINCESS ILARIA was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 25 March 2025 at 14H34). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) KISS OF FIRE raced with a cornell collar (declared 7 December 2023). b) HAT'S LADY raced equipped with ear muffs (declared 24 March 2025 at 07H34) steel shoes in front and unshod behind, a compression mask and without blinkers (declared 24 March 2025 at 07H35).
