THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIDWICKET (L Mxothwa) was stubborn loading. b) TRILLION DREAMS (J Gates) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. c) OH YOKO (MK Katjedi) was nervous in the stalls, jumped awkwardly outwards and was slow into stride. d) COSMIC CLIFFS (*I Taka) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MIDWICKET dislodged Jockey A Arries while proceeding to the start. This filly was taken in hand and led to the start by a Handler. During this incident, Jockey A Arries was injured and was replaced on MIDWICKET by Jockey L Mxothwa, who was weighed out and transported to the start. This resulted in a delay to the start of this race. Trainer L Gila was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended. b) This race was run in heavy rain. As a result, all Riders weighed back in slightly overweight. c) TUNE AGAIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Lotz, acting on behalf of Trainer L Lotz, was advised. (LM) d) OPERA VERSE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised.
