THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CRYSTAL CLEAR (*M Mbuto) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) GREEN MILE (S Moodley) failed to parade in front of the grandstand. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) An Inquiry will be opened to establish why PARLIAMENT SQUARE (*J Botes), FOREST DRUM (A Mgudlwa) and CRYSTAL CLEAR (*M Mbuto) suffered interference at the 1200m. c) In view of the performance of FOREST DRUM (A Mgudlwa) which hung out from the 500m, commenced to give ground to the field and was not persevered with in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey C F Dicken reported that DEE DAY took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey S Hlengwa signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that as the rider of CRYSTAL CLEAR, he failed to weigh out at the carded weight resulting in a change of rider. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. f) DANCING ON A CLOUD (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Kannemeyer was advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Apprentice M Mbuto (-4kg) was the rider of CRYSTAL CLEAR (advised 02.04.2025/14h07). b) Apprentice M Mbuto (CRYSTAL CLEAR) weighed out at 49.4kg and was only able to claim 3.5kg of his 4kg Apprentice allowance.
