THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DECREE (C Little) was reluctant to load. b) RESURGENCE (S Khathi), SAMTHEWISEMAN (Y Ramzan) and BOMPAS (KA Brewer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice H Moosun (GLOBAL BANKER) had a satisfying qualifying ride. b) LUCKY SPIRIT (*N Baboo) jumped sharply inwards and made contact with BOMPAS (KA Brewer) shortly after the start. c) GUARDING THE WALL (L Mxothwa) was hanging in from the 400m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. d) Jockeys C Little and X Ndlovu reported that DECREE and AXEL COLLINS respectively changed stride ` continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. Assistant Trainer N Paddock and Trainer Z Oosthuizen respectively were advised to report back should they find anything amiss with these geldings on their return to the stables. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding DECREE (C Little), Trainer WGC Miller will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) Trainer DA McKenzie was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate WAR SWORD against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer DA McKenzie signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00. g) STRATA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
