The start of this race was delayed due to the late Veterinary scratching of BEACH PALACE (M Yeni) at the start. Time was taken to allow the betting public to restructure their bets. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FLYING REIGN STORM (C F Dicken) lost 1 length. b) EVENTIDOR (C Zackey) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start EVENTIDOR (C Zackey) was bumped by COTTON RON (*J Botes) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) BALLY MAGIC (S Moodley) raced wide and without cover around the turn and into the straight. c) Jockey S Moodley reported that BALLY MAGIC did not stride freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) GORGEOUS DUDE (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright was advised (SP).
