THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SMART STAR (C Maujean) was stubborn loading, fractious in the stalls, jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. b) PRICELESS TREASURE (S Naidoo) was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SOMBREUIL (C Habib) was bumped outwards and became unbalanced when READY (C Zackey) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) PRICELESS TREASURE (S Naidoo) and SUPREME JUDGE (L Mxothwa) came together and brushed shortly after the start. c) SOMBREUIL (C Habib) was hanging in from the 300m. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding SMART STAR (C Maujean), Assistant Trainer FJ Jacobs will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) READY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
