THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO ART NOUVEAU (S KHUMALO) BEING SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY BEING SCRATCHED. TIME WAS ALLOTTED FOR THE BETTING PUBLIC TO RESTRUCTURE THEIR BETS. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, ART NOUVEAU (S Khumalo) became restless and kicked the back gates. This filly was removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary surgeon and scratched - injured. Trainer A P Peter was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) LUNAR RAINBOW (Wes Marwing) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) PASS THE BATON (N Klink) jumped sharply outwards leaving the stalls. d) WORLD TOUR (D De Gouveia) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BELLA BOOP BOOP (P Mxoli), WORLD TOUR (D De Gouveia), CITY LIGHTS (C Habib) and JINGER JAM (C Maujean) suffered varying degrees of interference when awkwardly placed between PASS THE BATON (N Klink), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and LUNAR RAINBOW (Wes Marwing), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) From the 300m, ARTIC SILVER (G Lerena) was carried in by JINGER JAM (C Maujean), which commenced to hang in from the 400m. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, ARTIC SILVER (G Lerena) was directed inwards off the heels of WORLD TOUR (D De Gouveia) to continue its run. c) CITY LIGHTS (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS.
