THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SIMPLY MAJESTIC (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, MOUNT PINATUBO (C Maujean) was bumped in by SIMPLY MAJESTIC (K Matsunyane), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) MOUNT PINATUBO (C Maujean) hung in from the 200m. c) BUFFALO STORM CODY (G Lerena) changed legs at the 150m and thereafter commenced to hang in. d) Jockey Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with THE SPECIALIST in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) BUFFALO STORM CODY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MOUNT PINATUBO was ridden by Jockey C Maujean (declared 12 April 2025 at 09H33). Trainer J J van Vuuren was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.1 in that he failed to declare a rider for MOUNT PINATUBO at the time of final acceptances.
