The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MR RAZZLE (S Moodley) was stubborn to load. Lost 3 lengths. b) PIONEER SQUARE (G Lerena), WHITE SEAHORSE (C F Dicken) and SAMUEL LONGSWORD (R A Venniker) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start WHITE SEAHORSE (C F Dicken) was steadied off the heels of SNAKE ALLEY (S Hlengwa) which was carried out by AMANDLA NGAWETHU (S Veale) which jumped ouwards leaving the starting stalls. b) SAMUEL LONGSWORD (R A Venniker) over-raced in the early stages. c) In the concluding stages TEE DOG (C Habib) was momentarily inconvenienced off the heels of WHITE SEAHORSE (C F Dicken) which rolled in and was immediately corrected. d) Jockey R A Venniker reported that she felt something amiss in the running with SAMUEL LONGSWORD. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of AMANDLA NGAWETHU (S Veale) (16.30 lengths, 8/1 in the betting), which hung out in the early stages and around the turn, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey A Fortune's (GRAN CANARIA) riding in the concluding stages. g) GRAN CANARIA (A Fortune), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
