THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SMART VIEW (C Maujean) was nervous in the stalls and reared, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay.
b) AMERICAN PITBULL (S Fortune) was stubborn loading.
c) STAND UP (*N Nastili) was nervous in the stalls, reared and thereafter was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Apprentice H Moosun (MASTER WIZARD) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride.
b) STAND UP (*N Nastili), which was slow into stride, failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout.
c) MASTER WIZARD (*H Moosun) and GRAND ALLEGRO (C Habib) came together and brushed shortly after the start.
d) GRAND ALLEGRO (C Habib) was hanging in from the 350m.
e) MITREDAT (E Webber) shifted out away from the crop at the 200m and thereafter was directed outwards away from the heels of DYNAMITE JET (Y Ramzan).
f) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with LETONA. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
Assistant Trainer DG Smith will be advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding SMART VIEW (C Maujean) and STAND UP (*N Nastili), Assistant Trainer DG Smith and Trainer D McKenzie will be advised to have these geldings re-schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
h) WINTER EMERALDS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (HK)
i) GRAND ALLEGRO, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (HK)

a) STORMSTRIDE raced without a compression mask and with cheek pieces (declared 06h52 on 20250420)
b) C Zackey (LETONA) rode +1.5kg of which 1kg was carded (55.4kgs)
c) *H Moosun (MASTER WIZARD) rode +0.5kg and only claimed 3kg of his 4kg allowance (50.8kgs)
d) E Webber (MITREDAT) rode +0.5kg (52.6kgs)
