THE STARTER REPORTED: a) POISE PANACHE (MK Katjedi) was stubborn loading. b) MIDWICKET (S Khathi) was unruly behind the stalls and stubborn loading. c) LAUGH TILL I CRY (L Mxothwa), PRESERVE FOREVER (C Maujean) and ACCUMULATE (E Webber) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TWILIGHT BAY (C Zackey) over raced in the early and middle stages. b) ELEGANT APPEAL (S Naidoo) was carried in and had to steady on the inside of TWILIGHT BAY (C Zackey), which was carried inward by MIDWICKET (S Khathi), which shifted inwards slightly at approximately the 1500m. Jockey S Khathi was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of MIDWICKET, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TWILIGHT BAY and ELEGANT APPEAL at approximately the 1500m. Jockey S Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. c) TWILIGHT BAY (C Zackey) had to be switched inwards off the heels of MIDWICKET (S Khathi) when carried inwards by LAUGH TILL I CRY (L Mxothwa), which was hanging in from the 350m and shifted inwards slightly at approximately the 200m. d) MIDWICKET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Gila was advised. (LM) e) TWILIGHT BAY, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised.
