THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m, MYSTIC VISION (+C Mabaya), CODEWORD (+X C Machaieie) and TWO FOR THE BOYS (+S Mosia) were bumped in by CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD (+T Matsoele), which shifted in away from the crop. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, SKY PILLAR ROCK (+P Mlangeni) and TWO FOR THE BOYS (+S Mosia) came together and bumped on a number of occasions when carried in by CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD (+T Matsoele), which continued to shift in. As a consequence of this, TWO FOR THE BOYS (+S Mosia) checked and lost momentum and SKY PILLAR ROCK (+P Mlangeni) became unbalanced. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by an Objection being lodged by him on behalf of the second-placed horse, SKY PILLAR ROCK (+P Mlangeni), against the winner, CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD (+T Matsoele), on the grounds of intimidation and interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after reviewing the patrol film of the race and hearing all the evidence put forward by the connections, was of the opinion that SKY PILLAR ROCK (+P Mlangeni) would have finished in front of CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD (+T Matsoele) barring this incident and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges result to read as follows: 1st 2 SKY PILLAR ROCK (+P Mlangeni) 2nd 5 CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD (+T Matsoele) 3rd 4 MYSTIC VISION (+C Mabaya) 4th 9 TWO FOR THE BOYS (+S Mosia) 5th 1 ROYAL MIRACLE (+P Mongqawa) 6th 6 EUPHRATES (+S Siphika) b) Work Rider T Matsoele was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SKY PILLAR ROCK (+P Mlangeni) and TWO FOR THE BOYS (+S Mosia) when he shifted in in the concluding stages. Work Rider T Matsoele signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Work Rider Races. Suspension dates: To be advised. c) CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD (+T Matsoele), placed second on objection, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Zackey advised (MduP). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) EUPHRATES: Work Rider S Siphika weighed out at 61,1kg, 1kg over the carded weight. Work Rider S Siphika was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on EUPHRATES, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer A Peter. Work Rider S Siphika signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race. Suspension date: 15 May 2025. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) TWO FOR THE BOYS raced equipped with alumite bar shoes in front and alumites behind (declared 27 April 2025 at 07H21). b) CODEWORD raced with a tongue tie on (declared 28 April 2025 at 09H14). c) GRAND LEGACY raced in club colours (blue with a black cap).
