THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages, the lead bag on ARTIC SILVER (+S Mkhumbuzi) became detached. Work Rider S Mkhumbuzi's equipment was checked by a member of the Stipendiary Board and found to be in good working order. The Clerk of Scales lodged an objection against ARTIC SILVER in terms of NHA Rule 68.2.11 in that Work Rider S Mkhumbuzi weighed in 6,5kg under the weight he weighed out at. After giving regard to the evidence, the objection was upheld and in terms of Rule 69.7, ARTIC SILVER was disqualified. b) Work Rider P Mongqawa reported that he felt something amiss with JINGER JAM in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) RED SPARROW (+T Lukhele), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee A Smith was advised (MS).
