The start of this race was delayed due to the withdrawal of COMET PATH. COMET PATHWAS injured in the stalls and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. RUSALKA was nervous in the stalls, reared at the off, fly jumped leaving the stalls and was slow into stride. TIME FOR LAUNCH was slow away and lost 1 length. JOHN IN FLIGHT was stubborn loading, unruly, nervous in the stalls and jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. REAL RASCAL was nervous and flyjumped leaving the stalls. RUSALKA saddle slipped sideways in running placing Workrider Mlunguzi at a disadvantage and was unable to ride his mount out to the end of the race. This was confirmed by the Stipendiary Board. Workrider Kaspile signed an admission of guilt for a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse KOUNIA BELLA more than 12 times in the entire race. A suspension of 1 workrider's meeting was imposed. NATURAL JADE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: JUZCAR - not striding out left fore. Scratched: SCOLDING - ineligible, winner 22/01/2020. COMET PATH - withdrawn, stalls injured hind quarters.
