THE STARTER REPORTED: a) On arriving at the start Jockey L Mxothwa expressed concern with BLUE PALACE's action while proceeding to the start. This filly was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. b) MIDWICKET (S Khathi) was nervous in the stalls. c) LITTLE LEXI (*I Taka), THREAD OF LIFE (C Little), BRETTY (M van Rensburg) and KOMESANS PASSION (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MIDWICKET (S Khathi) had to be steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between DUELLONA (*N Baboo) and IQEMBULABESIFAZANE (*H Moosun) shortly after the start. b) DUELLONA (*N Baboo) was switched out sharply to obtain clear running at approximately the 800m. c) IQEMBULABESIFAZANE (*H Moosun) raced wide without cover on the bend and into the straight. d) DUELLONA (*N Baboo) momentarily steadied his mount in anticipation of being awkwardly placed between THREAD OF LIFE (C Little) and KOMESANS PASSION (C Zackey) at approximately the 150m. Apprentice N Baboo appeared before the Board and was advised to keep his position when placed between runners and to ride his mounts out in compliance with the Rules. e) BRETTY (M van Rensburg) shifted out away from the crop from approximately the 150m and was corrected before the finish line. f) Jockey C Zackey reported that KOMESANS PASSION did not stride out freely in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Assistant Trainer FJ Jacobs was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on his return to the stables. g) COLORAMA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) PERFECT TRUST raced with a tongue tie (declared 15h23 on 20250429) b) SUNDROP raced with blinkers (declared 09h34 on 20250501) c) C Habib (PERFECT TRUST) rode +2kg of which 1.5kg was carded (55.3kgs) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) MIDWICKET: Weight adjustment: New weight 61.5kg; MR 71 (Winner Fairview 20250425) THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) KOMESANS PASSION - examined post-race.
