THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PLEASE BE TRUE (JP van der Merwe) and SCOTTISH KISS (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed at the request of the Racing Operator as they were experiencing technical issues with the tote. b) Approaching the 100m OLIVER (C Orffer) rolled out and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of PLEASE BE TRUE (JP van der Merwe). Thereafter, Jockey C Orffer (OLIVER) did not persevere with his riding. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey C Orffer appeared before the Board and was advised that while the Stewards accepted that OLIVER had been inconvenienced, he is still expected to ride his mounts, at least hands and heels, to the finish. c) DUMBLEDORE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
