THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RUBY REX (C Zackey) and MARKET TRENDS (G Wright) were restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages NEBULOUS (S Veale) rolled out and had to be steadied away from the heels of FLEUR DE VILLE (*B Plaatjies). As a consequence, Jockey S Veale was unable to ride NEBULOUS to the finish. b) Jockey D Ashby reported that LARKING ABOUT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that RUBY REX, which was hanging out from the 300m, did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding RUBY REX (C Zackey) and MARKET TRENDS (G Wright), Trainers AN Marcus and SW Humby will be advised to have these fillies re-schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) AMERICAN ULTRA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
