THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SEE THE SIGN (J Solomons) and LIFELONG DANCE (*S Bungane) jumped slow, losing one length. b) MISS MACKIE (M Mjoka) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jokcey C Orffer reported that CALL ME JANE, which took an awkward stride at the 50m, was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Trainers B/J Crawford were charged with a contravention of Rule 55.1.1, in that they declared Jockey G Wright to ride MISS MACKIE without having obtained his prior consent, which resulted in a change of Rider. Assistant Trainer R Barrett signed an Admission of Guilt on behalf of Trainer B Crawford and Trainer B Crawford was fined R1 000.00. c) COLD BREEZE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
