THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAMPSTEAD HEATH (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 200m HAMPSTEAD HEATH (C Zackey) was carried inwards, had to be checked and made contact with DIAMOND BOMBER (O Noach) when UNA THE UNICORN (*B Plaatjies), which was held up behind ONI SAN (G Lerena) was directed inwards. Apprentice B Plaatjies was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of UNA THE UNICORN, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to HAMPSTEAD HEATH leaving the 200m. Apprentice B Plaatjies signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 14/05/2025 to 20/05/2025, both dates inclusive) b) In the concluding stages, UNA THE UNICORN (*B Plaatjies) made contact with the hindquarters of both LA DIVINA (C Orffer) and LADY LOOK ALIKE (L Mxothwa) while attempting to improve into a narrow run between runners. As a consequence, UNA THE UNICORN (*B Plaatjies), was unbalanced and Apprentice Plaatjies was unable to ride UNA THE UNICORN to the finish. c) Jockey A Domeyer reported that KLEINZEE felt uncomfortable in its action and did not respond to his urgings in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) LA DIVINA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
