THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SERGEANT SOQRAT (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CHRONICLE KING (G Lerena) over-raced in the early stages. b) Jockey R Danielson reported that ALHAKIM made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) Jockey D Schwarz reported that WESTWARD GIRL did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of GOLDEN WARRIOR, misused his crop by striking this colt more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R3000 was imposed. e) CHRONICLE KING (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) ALHAKIM raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 13 May 2025 at 09H18).
