THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SPANISH FEUD (A Mgudlwa), LATE BLOOMER (S Veale) and WATER HYACINTH (T Godden) lost 1 length.
b) PENNY PRETTY (G Wright) lost 2 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) Shortly after the start LATE BLOOMER (S Veale) and WATER HYACINTH (T Godden) were buffeted between WHAT A PASSION (G Lerena) and SPANISH FEUD (A Mgudlwa) which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b) At the 300m LATE BLOOMER (S Veale) was directed outwards away from the heels of TRISTAN DA CUNHA (S Moodley) which hung in from the 500m.
c) FLYING SOUTH (C Little) raced green.
d) Jockey G Wright appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his riding of PENNY PRETTY in this race. He explained to the Board that this filly raced exceptionally green and hung in badly, proving difficult to assist. Jockey G Wright was advised to ride his mounts out to the end of the race with suitable determination and vigour so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e) HIERARCHY (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells was advised (SP).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) WATER HYACINTH raced fitted with an alumite bar shoe on the left front (advised 14.05.2025/07h40).
b) SHE'S A TRACKSTAR raced equipped with ear muffs (advised 16.05.2025/15h46).
c) Jockey S Veale was the rider of LATE BLOOMER (advised 17.05.2025/13h21).
