THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DUCHESS OF SEVILLE (K Minnie) was reluctant to load. b) CEDARPEAK (*N Nastili) was nervous in the stalls. c) MOVE TO THE GROOVE (S Fortune) jumped slow, losing one length. d) STAR OF ELENA (G Lerena) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MIDNIGHT MUSIC recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer TJ Laing was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) STAR OF ELENA (G Lerena) was hanging in from the 350m. c) In view of the performance of CEDARPEAK (*N Nastili), which took a number of awkward strides at the 100m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey S Fortune reported that MOVE TO THE GROOVE choked up in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 100m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer E Kaknis was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding DUCHESS OF SEVILLE (K Minnie), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 24/05/2025 to 30/05/2025 inclusive) DUCHESS OF SEVILLE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) WILD APPLAUSE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
