THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EPIC THUNDER (J Gates), INCENDIARY (L Mxothwa), STAR TROOPER (S Fortune) and NUCLEUR POWER (*N Nastili) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) STAND UP (MK Katjedi) was hanging in from the 300m. b) GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (S Khathi) shifted outwards sharply shortly before the finish. c) In view of the performance of NUCLEAR POWER (*N Nastili), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables. d) Apprentice N Nastili was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that as the rider of NUCLEAR POWER, he failed to ride NUCLEAR POWER out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Apprentice N Nastili signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. e) ROYAL KINGDOM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
