En route to the start JEANNE DARC (C Habib) cast the left front shoe which was attended to by the course farrier at the start. This filly was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GINGER DELIGHT (A Mgudlwa) was stubborn to load. b) ZINIKELE (S Veale) lost 1 length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) YOUR LADYSHIP (M Thackeray) which was slow into stride, was bumped by JEANNE DARC (C Habib) which jumped in leaving the stalls. b) YOUR LADYSHIP (M Thackeray) and JEANNE DARC (C Habib) over-raced in the early stages. c) Approaching the 300m LITTLEBLACKVELVET (*M Mbuto) which rolled out and JEANNE DARC (C Habib) which rolled in, came together and brushed. d) In view of the performance of FIREBURST (K Matsunyane) which tired rapidly from the 200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) ICE RAIN (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey C Habib was the rider of JEANNE DARC (26.05.2025/11h28).
