THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COUNT YOUR CHANCES (*G Samo-Burthia) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) SILVER FLARE (*N Nastili) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) NORTHERN KITTEN (*J Botes) over-raced in the early and middle stages, and tired badly from the 700m. Thereafter, Apprentice J Botes reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) At approximately the 1800m, LUNAR RAINBOW (*G Dookhit), which commenced to over-race, ran onto and clipped the heels of PATCHES OF GREY (*B Plaatjies). c) TEO TORRIATTE (*M Mbuto), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
