Just before the start was effected, ELEGANT ROYAL became restless in the stalls and broke the front gates open. Consequently, a false start was declared. All runners were restrained shortly after the false start was declared, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded. This caused a delay to the start of this Race. ELEGANT ROYAL became restless in the stalls and broke through the front gates prior to the start being effected. Consequently, a false start was declared. In deciding what action to take against ELEGANT ROYAL, the Starter considered that when this horse jumped the second time with the downgraded grading of 'jump out of hood', this filly's behaviour was appropriate. Accordingly, no further action was taken, ELEGANT ROYAL's grading has been downgraded and its behaviour at the starting stalls will be closely monitored in moving forward. STATUTE lost two lengths. ON THE DOUBLE lost one length. ON THE DOUBLE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ELEGANT ROYAL raced with a cornell collar.
