The start of this race was delayed due to ROYAL AUSSIE (M Yeni) having to be resaddled at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREAT PLAINS (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1400m SEE IT AGAIN (R Danielson) was steadied momentarily when close to the heels of COSMIC SPEED (G Lerena) which rolled in. b) GREAT PLAINS (R Fourie) and MONTIEN (C Orffer) raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight. c) Entering the straight SEE IT AGAIN (R Danielson) rolled out. Thereafter SEE IT AGAIN (R Danielson) was eased when awkwardly placed between the heels of WILLIAM ROBERTSON (*T Mayhew) and GLADATORIAN (S Veale) which rolled in. SEE IT AGAIN (R Danielson) was then directed to the inside of WILLIAM ROBERTSON (*T Mayhew) to continue its run. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with GREAT PLAINS in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of MONTIEN (C Orffer) (14.10 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report regarding MONTIEN, this gelding is suspended in terms of Rule 49.7 and a Veterinary Certificate is required prior to racing. Trainer P Botha will be advised. g) DAVE THE KING (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Mathew De Kock was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) PURPLE PITCHER raced without blinkers (advised 02.06.2025/13h48). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
