THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO A TECHNICAL ISSUE WITH THE PHOTO FINISH CAMERA. . THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FUTURE KING (K Matsunyane) was slow losing one length. b) Shortly after the start, MIZZEN SWORD (J Penny) and MAJALUN (S Khumalo) came together and bumped. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey K Matsunyane felt something amiss with FUTURE KING in running and eased this colt out of the race in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with MAJALUN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the performance of SANTIAGO'S PRIDE (*K J Lihaba), (distance 16,20 lengths, betting 2/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Race 6 contd. e) Jockey J Gates was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of FOLLOW THE MASTER, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than twelve times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey J Gates signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R4000 was imposed. f) ENFLAME (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MIZZEN SWORD raced equipped with blinkers (declared 13 June 2025 at 06H00). b) FUTURE KING raced without a compression mask (declared 13 June 2025 at 16H57). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) FUTURE KING exercise associated sudden death. b) MAJALUN not striding out right hind. c) SANTIAGO'S PRIDE not striding out behind. d) MIZZEN SWORD blowing post race.
