THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PARALEGAL (S Veale) took an awkward stride shortly after the start. b) TAKE IT AS RED (C Little) was hanging out throughout and raced awkwardly on the latter part of the turn and into the straight. Jockey C Little reported that TAKE IT AS RED made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) At the 300m LOWVELD LILY (R Fourie) was steadied briefly and directed in when close to the heels of TAKE IT AS RED (C Little). Thereafter, Jockey R Fourie reported that LOWVELD LILY felt uncomfortable behind. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) At the 200m PARALEGAL (S Veale) was momentarily inconvenienced on the outside of TAKE IT AS RED (C Little), which was hanging out and shifted out. e) UKUDUMA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
