The start of this race was late due to the Starting Stalls having to be repositioned on the track.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) HARPA (T Godden) and ANEMIE (S Veale) and ACT OF GRACE (C Little) lost 1 length.
b) INVICTUS JET (S Moodley) lost 1 length and thereafter was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) SOL NOMARA (A Fortune) over-raced in the early stages.
b) AMERICAN SOCIALITE (M Yeni) came under pressure from the 600m and was not persevered with from the 250m. Thereafter Jockey M Yeni reported that this filly felt awkward in her action. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
c) BLONDE BOMBSHELL (K Matsunyane) was not persevered with from the 200m. Thereafter Jockey Matsunyane reported that this filly took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d) In the concluding stages WINTER BLESSING (R Danielson) was brushed by LOVE THE USA (G Lerena) which rolled in and was corrected.
e) Trainer Y Govender was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1., in that he failed to ensure that the owner's colours were available for the horse SOL NAMARA. Trainer Y Govender signed the admission of guilt and was issued with a warning.
f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report regarding BLONDE BOMBSHELL, this filly is suspended in terms of Rule 49.7 and a Veterinary Certificate is required prior to racing. Trainer M L Roberts will be advised.
g) CHARGE IT (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright was advised (DZ).
