THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) DESERT CLOUD (+A Feni) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b) CYBER SPIRIT (+D Botha) was slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Work Rider S Mkhumbuzi, the rider of ENDIZAYO, accidentally dropped his crop at the 250m.
b) Work Rider D Botha was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of CYBER SPIRIT, misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (19) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race.
Work Rider Work Rider D Botha signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in seven (7) Work Rider races.
Suspension dates: 3 July 2025, 24 July 2025, 7 August 2025, 14 August 2025, 26 August 2025, 2 September 2025 and 25 September 2025.
c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MISS MUNROE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer P F Matchett was advised.
d) MISTY METAL (+P Mongqawa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
Stable Employee M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised (MS).
e) CHILLI MARMALADE (+T Lukhele), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

WORK RIDER CHANGES:
a) SMART STAR was ridden by Jockey Work Rider M Jafta, who weighed out at 58,8kg, 1,5kg over the carded weight.
Work Rider M Jafta was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on SMART STAR, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer J A Visser. Work Rider M Jafta signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race.
Suspension date: 3 July 2025.
