THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) THOMAS JENKINS was restless in the stalls, fly-jumped leaving the stalls and dislodged Jockey A Fortune.
b) DIVE BOMBER (O Noach) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regard to THOMAS JENKINS (A Fortune) in stall gate 13 and established that this gelding was restless in the stalls, fly-jumped leaving the stalls and dislodged Jockey A Fortune. The Stewards were satisfied that this gelding had not been impeded in any way and took no further action.
In view of the report from the Starter regarding THOMAS JENKINS (A Fortune), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 25/06/2025 to 01/07/2025 inclusive) THOMAS JENKINS may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
b) Approaching the 300m HOODIA (C Orffer) had to be checked and then took an awkward stride when close to the heels of AFRIQUE (L Mxothwa), which was carried out by PALACE GIFT (A Arries), which was directed outwards in an attempt to improve on the outside of DAS GUTE (K Steyn). DIVE BOMBER (O Noach) which was following, had to be steadied as a consequence. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine HOODIA (C Orffer).
Jockey A Arries was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of PALACE GIFT, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to AFRIQUE and HOODIA at the 300m. Jockey A Arries signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 25/06/2025 to 01/07/2025, both dates inclusive)
c) ARBITRATION (JP van der Merwe) was held up for a clear run until the 300m.
d) KING'S QUEST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (KG)
