EN ROUTE TO THE START, FRANCINE (G LERENA) CAST ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FAMOUS LADY (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, making contact with the left-side front gate. b) FRANCINE (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) An inquiry will be opened to establish why QUEEN OF LOVE (P Strydom) had to ease in the concluding stages. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that FRANCINE changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey C Maujean reported that HAPPY MO made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
