THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SEE ME RUN (D Schwarz) was stubborn loading. b) ELEGANCIA (C Maujean) and OUR BISCUIT (*J R Syster) were slow, losing 1 length. c) PASSION PEACH (M Thackeray) was slow, losing 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1000m PICCADILLY SQUARE (G Lerena), which commenced to over-race, had to steady off the heels of INITIATOR (P Strydom). b) In the concluding stages TAHITIAN ORANA (A Domeyer) had to steady to avoid running on to the heels of MAGIC MILA (W Kennedy), which hung out badly from the 200m and thereafter shifted out sharply shortly before the finish line. When taking into account MAGIC MILA'S previous history with regards to hanging, Assistant Trainer A Peter was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to ensure that this filly keeps straight in races. c) Jockey P Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with INITIATOR in running and did not persevere with his ride from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer G M Alexander was requested to report back on the condition of INITIATOR on return to stables. d) Apprentice P Mxoli reported that VINE STREET STAR did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) MAGIC MILA (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter advised. (RH) f) ELEGANCIA (C Maujean), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Sham advised. (DR) JOCKEY CHANGES: a) None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) ELEGANCIA raced equipped with blinkers (declared 27 January 2020 / 07:59). b) LAAT LAMMETJIE (AUS): Jockey D de Gouveia weighed out at 55.2kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
