THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PERINI PALACE (M K Katjedi) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) PEARL IN HER CROWN (C Maujean) and GIMME THE FLAME (N Klink) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PALACE PRINCE (M Yeni) hung out from the 400m. b) AFTER HOURS (P Strydom) was baulked for a clear run from the 400m to the 200m. c) At approximately the 400m, SHEETS AND GOGGLES (*N Nastili) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between the outside running rail and NORTHERN KITTEN (J Gates), which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. d) In view of the performance of CALLABURN (J R Syster), (distance 14,80 lengths, betting 33/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the performance of PEARL IN HER CROWN (C Maujean), (distance 17,30 lengths, betting 11/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Apprentice G Dookhit reported that CITY LIGHTS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) Shortly after the finish line, AFTER HOURS (P Strydom) and CAN'T CATCH ME (P Mxoli) came together and bumped. h) ROYAL HORIZON (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer H van der Westhuizen advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SHEETS AND GOGGLES was ridden by Apprentice N Nastili (declared 3 July 2025 at 08H17).
