THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NIGHT IN JAPAN (C Maujean) was reluctant to load. b) DUCHESS OF SEVILLE (*N Nastili) was stubborn loading, jumped awkwardly and made contact with the right front gate of the starting stalls, which resulted in Apprentice N Nastili becoming unbalanced. c) RUBY CLAIRE (C Zackey) jumped inwards. d) TRILLION DREAMS (J Gates) jumped slow, losing one length. e) PHYSIOLOGUS (S Fortune) and BEACH QUEEN (*J Botes) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DANCING IN WINTER (G Wright) refused to parade and canter past to the start. This filly is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as she proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day. b) POISE PANACHE (MK Katjedi) raced wide without cover on the bend and into the straight. c) TRILLION DREAMS (J Gates) was hanging out from the 400m and was corrected at the 250m. d) BEACH QUEEN (*J Botes) was hanging out and shifted out away from the crop from the 250m. Apprentice J Botes appeared before the Board and was advised to react timeously and take the necessary corrective measures when his horse is shifting ground. e) In view of the performance of POISE PANACHE (MK Katjedi), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. f) DANCING IN WINTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JL van Heerden was advised.
