The start of this Race was delayed due to TASKA SPECIAL and ROY'S BANGLE arriving at the start late after having to be re-saddled in the parade ring, and thereafter, TASKA SPECIAL and HOT MONEY proving fractious whilst loading. HOT MONEY was restless in the stalls and lost 1 length. Trainer Whitehead was advised to re-school. TASKA SPECIAL was stubborn to load. Trainer Naidoo was advised to re-school. ATHENAS PATH THE GRINN lost 2 lengths, respectively. COLLATERAL BEAUTY lost 3 lengths. Prior to the horses leaving the parade ring, Trainer Naidoo raised concerns regarding the correctness of the saddles on TASKA SPECIAL and ROY'S BANGLE . Accordingly, as a precaution, the Stipendiary Board requested that the jockeys be re-weighed. This caused a delay to the above horses proceeding to the start. A race review, pertaining to TASKA SPECIAL drawn in stall gate 4, was called into the start of this race. In this regard, it was established that, as the start was effected, TASKA SPECIAL became fractious in the stalls. Consequently, Apprentice Jacobs placed his left foot on the side of the pens rather than in the irons. This resulted in Apprentice Jacobs becoming dismounted from TASKA SPECIAL after the start was effected. In reviewing this incident, the Board was satisfied that, when the start was effected, Apprentice X Jacobs was mounted on TASKA SPECIAL. This was confirmed by Apprentice Jacobs who was interviewed post-race and that, any consequences suffered by TASKA SPECIAL was as a consequence of her own behaviour. Therefore, no further action was taken and TASKA SPECIAL was deemed to be a runner. MISS MARMALADE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. GLITTER AND GOLD, TWO PATHS and COLLATERAL BEAUTY raced fitted with ear muffs. KEEP ON CRUSING raced without cheek pieces. Vet: KEEP ON CRUSING - mild post race distress. Scratched: QUESTION TIME - lame right fore.
