THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process it was reported that the numbers on the front of the starting stalls were incorrect. The Stewards were satisfied that all horses were loaded in the correct stalls. b) DEAN STREET (JP van der Merwe) was stubborn loading, causing a delay. c) TIME FO ORCHIDS (O Noach) was stubborn loading, causing a further delay and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DEAN STREET (JP van der Merwe) rolled in and made contact with DUMBLEDORE (R Fourie) at the finish. b) Apprentice B Plaatjies reported that GLOBAL STATE tired quickly in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the performance of TIME FO ORCHIDS (O Noach), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding TIME FO ORCHIDS (O Noach), Trainer VH Marshall will be advised to have this mare re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) KAIBOY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
